How we operate remotely

Here at Astute, during the COVID-19 pandemic we are making use of a combination of local and remote computers as well as cloud systems for our project work. We have always had systems in place that has enabled us to operate from our office, from home, or on the road. This is how we do it:

  • All of our computers are protected by a well known security suite.
  • Our email is hosted by a well known secure service.
  • For internal data storage and internal transfers we make use a secure cloud service.
  • File sharing outside of our company is achieved using a separate secure file hosting service.
  • We frequently back up our systems to the cloud and also locally onto multiple separate storage devices.
  • Our modelling computers are run from a secure location inside a secure network.
  • We access our modelling computers locally or via a encrypted secure system.
  • We communicate via telephone or using a variety of software. For example we use Viber, Google Hangouts, Microsoft Teams, Facetime and Skype depending on the clients preference. We can also host small teleconferences of up to five people using our phones.
  • Where possible we install equipment that uses telemetry for data upload.
